Throughout her career, this quality has served her well with clients and colleagues. That mindset, coupled with over 17 years of tax and consulting experience, have helped her become a highly valued asset to clients experiencing the inevitable cycles that occur in business and personal development. She has obtained significant experience in the tax issues most relevant to individuals, small businesses and family office structures.

Clients quickly realize that Sylvia understands the importance of family, business ownership and the desire for that legacy to pass to their heirs or chosen successors in a smooth transition, minimizing taxes and maximizing value. She enjoys the dynamic of working alongside families to provide guidance and advise on the mitigation of risk for all of the clients’ individual, trust and estate tax compliance needs at the federal and multi-state levels. And, when required, her experience and perseverance for excellence have proven invaluable in obtaining positive results for clients facing difficult IRS matters.

Background

Sylvia has always called the Greater Houston area her home. She grew up in Tomball, is an alumni of the University of Houston and currently resides in the Spring area. As a working mom, she attended the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting. This was followed by certification as a Public Accountant in the State of Texas. Working for years at a mid-size local firm in the Heights area, she learned skills and made connections launching her into the next phase of her career as a Partner at Freese, Peralez & Associates, LLC serving the Houston Metro area from their base in The Woodlands, Texas.


On A Personal Note

Spring, Texas is where Sylvia has chosen to raise her four children. She is mother of a 23-year-old daughter who recently received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and currently pursuing a master’s degree in Marine Biology at the James Cook University in Australia. A 20-year-old son who reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA in 2021 and a pair of 13-year-old (fraternal) twins, a boy and a girl, attending Klein ISD who are active in various sports and organizations, including soccer, football, track and run club, to name a few. By way of example, Sylvia strives to instill humility, empathy and integrity in all of her children. In 2016 she participated as an organ donor in a six-way (3 donors and 3 recipients) kidney swap and was instrumental in saving the life of a dear friend and two complete strangers. Her act of selflessness is a testament to the person she is and role-model she continually seeks to be.
