Tim has over 25 years of experience consulting with a wide variety of clients on their most important tax issues, helping them to preserve capital, become more profitable and take advantage of opportunities. His clients have consistently benefited from his expertise in areas such as Partnership and Corporate Taxation, Entity Structuring, Mergers and Acquisitions, Oil and Gas, Business Succession Planning and International Tax reporting for US companies.

Background
Tim is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans and is originally from the Crescent City. Since relocating to Texas in 1996 for greater career opportunity, he has lived in The Woodlands area. Tim is a recipient of the prestigious “Top Ten Award”, for achievement on the CPA exam. Scoring the highest mark in Texas for that session, Tim was honored to be invited to speak to the incoming group of CPA’s at the swearing-in ceremony in Austin.
On A Personal Note
With his wife, Daphne, of nearly 37 years, Tim has raised three daughters in The Woodlands area. Two are graduates of Sam Houston State University (one in accounting) and the other has recently graduated from Lone Star. Instilling in his daughters a drive for achievement and a desire to be self-reliant are two of the things that provides Tim with satisfaction. He now has two six-year-old grandsons and a three-year-old granddaughter.

She has obtained significant experience in the tax issues most relevant to individuals, small businesses and family office structures.
Clients quickly realize that Sylvia understands the importance of family, business ownership and the desire for that legacy to pass to their heirs or chosen successors in a smooth transition, minimizing taxes and maximizing value. She enjoys the dynamic of working alongside families to provide guidance and advise on the mitigation of risk for all of the clients’ individual, trust and estate tax compliance needs at the federal and multi-state levels. And, when required, her experience and perseverance for excellence have proven invaluable in obtaining positive results for clients facing difficult IRS matters.

Sylvia has always called the Greater Houston area her home. She grew up in Tomball, is an alumni of the University of Houston and currently resides in the Spring area. As a working mom, she attended the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting. This was followed by certification as a Public Accountant in the State of Texas. Working for years at a mid-size local firm in the Heights area, she learned skills and made connections launching her into the next phase of her career as a Partner at Freese, Peralez & Associates, LLC serving the Houston Metro area from their base in The Woodlands, Texas.
On A Personal Note
Spring, Texas is where Sylvia has chosen to raise her four school-age children. She is mother to a 20-year old daughter attending Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and three school-age children attending Klein ISD schools – a 16-year old son and 9-year old (fraternal) twins, a boy and a girl. All of her children are active in various sports, clubs and organizations, including soccer, football, National Honor Society, Student Council, Girl Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of America. By way of example, Sylvia strives to instill humility, empathy and integrity in all of her children. In 2016 she participated as an organ donor in a six-way (3 donors and 3 recipients) kidney swap and was instrumental in saving the life of a dear friend and two complete strangers. Her act of selflessness is a testament to the person she is and role-model she continually seeks to be.

Jennifer joined our firm on November 30, 2016 as the Administrative Coordinator. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in 2011. After 15 years of working in customer service, she is excellent at communicating with people and enjoys helping solve problems. Many times, she will be the voice you hear when calling Freese, Peralez and Associates, LLC. She loves learning new tasks and seeing progress in newly developed skills.
Jennifer was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has now lived in The Woodlands Texas area for over 20 years. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her 7-year-old son and staying active. She enjoys going to her gym that specializes in high-intensity group workouts and running outside when the weather is nice. Jennifer likes to take the opportunity to combine her love of running to join charitable races that will have her feeling good as well as doing good for a greater cause.
